Route 1 in Mercer County Named Among Most Dangerous Highway Spots in New Jersey: Report

Drivers might want to be careful when they’re on Route 1, especially in West Windsor.

Route 1 between Quaker Bridge Road and Alexander Road is on nj.com’s list of 10 Most Dangerous Highway Spots in New Jersey, published on Friday. The list was compiled using 2014 crash statistics provided by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

There were 218 crashes over that stretch last year, according to the report. The stretch was ranked No. 5

It is one spot ahead of the stretch of the same road between Broadway and Route 139 in Jersey City, which was the scene of 194 crashes last year.

Route 22 from Jefferson Avenue to Madison Avenue in Union Township topped the list with 246 crashes.
