Solar Panel Project Underway Next To East Windsor Police/Court Building

Officials say the township will save $527,933 with the installation of the solar array.

East Windsor Township, NJ -- Work is underway on the solar project on the East Windsor Township police/court building, township officials said.

The project consists of a 444 kilowatt solar array designed to generate 577,093 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The goal is to offset nearly 100 percent of the building’s energy use.

The township has entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement with Dobtol Construction the township says will save $527,933 over the term of the agreement.

The array will be placed on a parcel of land donated by McGraw-Hill, adjacent to the police/court building.
