Hawaiian Ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro held a workshop with students at the on April 13 before playing an all-school concert later in the evening.
The 10 students, one teacher and one adjunct music faculty member who attended the workshop talked ukulele playing with Shimabukuro and asked questions on his performance and technique.
Shimabukuro said he has been doing many school visits and was inspired by the students.

“A lot of times I feel like I get more out of it than they do because they’re so inspiring, and just to see their passion and enthusiasm to learn is just so uplifting,” said Shimabukuro, who started playing at age 4.
The Allentown Morning Call called him the 'Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele', and his 2006 YouTube video performing George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" has more than 10 million views.
