East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov recently met with three scout groups.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov recently met with three Cub Scout groups to discuss “What a Mayor Does.” Mironov met with Cub Scout Pack 53, Dens 7 and 8 in town hall to answer questions about about the role and responsibilities of a mayor as well as current events in East Windsor Township.

A total of 14 scouts met with the mayor as they earned points toward their “Building a Better World Adventure” pin. “Building a Better World” is one of four Arrow of Light CORE adventure requirements.

In this adventure, scouts learn all about citizenship including the rights and duties of citizens, local government, improving communities through conservation, and connecting with Scouts in different countries. The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouts.

“It is wonderful to see so many of our younger residents take an interest in their community and how government operates on the local level,” Mironov said. “I was impressed by the scouts’ interesting and insightful questions, and look forward to their continued progress in scouts and interest in government and community service as they grow to become some of our future local leaders.”
