Allstate agency owners honored for their work with students

The Allstate Foundation provided a $12,000 grant to Junior Achievement of New Jersey to inspire and prepare students to succeed

Allstate agency owners throughout New Jersey were recognized for their work with Junior Achievement (JA) of New Jersey. Allstate volunteers supported the organization throughout the year by volunteering more than 75 hours and securing an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant for $12,000 to support JA’s mission to help students in grades K-12 develop the leadership and financial literacy skills needed to succeed in the 21st century.

The Allstate volunteers earned $12,000 for the organization by volunteering for several of the nonprofit’s youth programs including JA BizTown, which gives 5th and 6th grade students an opportunity to role play as business leaders while practicing entrepreneurship, money management and wise consumerism skills, and JA Finance Park, a hands-on financial literacy education program for 7th – 12th graders.

The participating volunteers are among thousands of agency owners and financial specialists around the country working to strengthen communities by volunteering their time to support the causes they care about most.

“I’ve been fortunate to have had great mentors in my life growing up, and helping students in the community through Junior Achievement of New Jersey is one way I can ensure they have the same opportunities that I did,” said Mount Laurel Allstate agency owner Christian Friberg. “Helping people in our community is a big part of who my fellow Allstate volunteers and I are as local residents and business owners. We’re proud to come together and help children in our community as volunteers for Junior Achievement programs.”

JA of New Jersey is one of thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofits where they volunteer. The grants support organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes.
