EDISON, NJ — The Township has accepted an additional $500,000 in state grant funding to bolster local public health infrastructure, bringing its total award under the program to $1.26 million.
The Township Council approved a resolution authorizing the additional funds through the Enhancing Local Public Health Infrastructure grant, administered by the New Jersey Association of County and City Health Officials. The township's Director of Health and Human Services received notice of the supplemental funding on March 2, 2026.
Edison was originally awarded $707,683 under the program in August 2023. The additional $500,000 raises the total grant award to $1,257,683.
The terms of the original grant agreement remain in place. All funds must be expended by July 31.
The mayor and municipal clerk were authorized to execute any documents necessary to accept the additional funding.
