EDISON, NJ — Middlesex County will close out its 2026 Plays-in-the-Park season with a production of "Guys and Dolls," running nightly from Wednesday, July 29, through Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Stephen J. Capestro Theatre in Roosevelt Park.
Performances begin at 8 p.m. each night, according to the county.
Set in Damon Runyon's fictional New York City, the musical follows gambler Nathan Detroit as he tries to raise money for a high-stakes craps game while evading authorities. His girlfriend, nightclub performer Adelaide, laments their 14-year engagement, while Nathan enlists fellow gambler Sky Masterson for cash, leading Sky to pursue missionary Sarah Brown, according to the county's description of the show.
Tickets are available only on-site at the Capestro Theatre box office on the day of each performance, with no advance or online sales, the county said. The ticket booth opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. each show night, and patrons are seated immediately after purchasing tickets.
Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors 60 and over, and children 12 and under are admitted free, according to the county. Attendees must bring their own lawn chair with a back no higher than 40 inches.
In the event of inclement weather, ticketholders can use their stub for admission to another performance this season, the county said.
Active U.S. military service members and their immediate families receive complimentary admission to any performance, and veterans and their immediate families can attend free on Monday and Tuesday performances of each summer show, according to the county.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to support REPLENISH and Feeding Middlesex County, which will be on-site at each performance.
