EDISON, NJ — The Middlesex County Office of Aging and Disabled Services will host its annual Senior Health and Fitness Walk on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roosevelt Park, according to county officials.
The event coincides with National Falls Prevention Awareness Week, observed Sept. 21 to Sept. 25. Residents aged 60 and older are invited to take part in the free event, which is open to the public and media.
Attendees will take part in a guided walk and have access to free health screenings, wellness information, boxed lunches, raffles, T-shirts and entertainment, county officials said.
Registration is required and will close Monday, Sept. 7, at 4:15 p.m. Residents can register online or contact their local senior center for assistance.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to support REPLENISH and food pantries across Middlesex County. Officials said all donations will directly support local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The event will be held at Roosevelt Park, 151 Parsonage Road, Edison.
