Senior citizen bus crashes into Edison utility pole, one hurt (mycentraljersey.com) β Oak Tree Road in Edison was shut down for hours Tuesday after a South Plainfield senior citizen bus hit a utility pole near 2060 Oak Tree Road, sending one person to JFK University Medical Center with minor injuries. The snapped pole brought wires down across the roadway, forcing a prolonged closure in both directions while crews worked on repairs.

2. Former Nursing Director at Menlo Park Veterans Home Sues Over Retaliation (tapinto.net) β A former Director of Nursing at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park in Edison has sued the facility's management, alleging retaliation after he raised safety and compliance concerns. The lawsuit claims his duties were changed, pay raise denied, and working conditions became intolerable as the home worked under a strict state consent order.

Bollywood, Hollywood Movies Coming To Parsippany Park (patch.com) β Parsippany is hosting two free outdoor movie nights at Veterans Memorial Park, including a resident-voted Hollywood film with New Jersey ties. One option, "School of Rock," has scenes filmed in Rahway and Edison, giving locals a fun connection if it's chosen for the Sept. 12 screening.

(nj.com subscription) β A longtime Plainfield resident's childhood trips to a weekly horse auction in Edison helped spark a lifelong passion that grew into Crazy Faith Riders, a Black cowboy club serving New Jersey cities. His group now brings horses into communities like Newark, Elizabeth, and Plainfield to connect kids with Black equestrian history and new possibilities.
