Homeowners still face deadlines, daily fines, and even township removal and liens if bamboo spreads off their property, while officials debate clearer language and possibly adding other invasive plants later.
3. Five-goal performance buoys J.P. Stevens in win over Edison (nj.com subscription) — J.P. Stevens' girls soccer team, based in Edison, rode a five-goal explosion from senior Jaslyn Chen to a 5–2 win over crosstown rival Edison, completing a division sweep. Edison's Emily Pregnolato kept things close with two goals before Stevens pulled away, in a match that showcased standout local talent and a growing early-season scoring tally.
4. New Jersey's 15 best Jewish delis, ranked for 2026 (nj.com subscription) — Harold's New York Deli in Edison earns a prominent spot on a new list of New Jersey's best Jewish delis, praised for its gigantic pastrami sandwiches and classic comfort dishes. If you're craving matzo ball soup, knishes, or overstuffed corned beef, this statewide roundup confirms you don't have to leave Edison to find one of the state's top-rated spots.
5. NJ rents continue to rise. Mercer County saw the biggest jump over the past year. • Jersey Vindicator (jerseyvindicator.org) — If you're renting in Edison, new federal estimates show Middlesex County remains one of New Jersey's pricier markets, with typical one- and two-bedroom rents topping $2,100 and $2,600.
