• Wardlaw+Hartridge Students Named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists (tapinto.net) — Edison's Wardlaw+Hartridge School is celebrating five Upper School students named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, including three who live in Edison. These high achievers were honored at a school gathering and now advance in a highly competitive national process that could bring them finalist status and access to valuable college scholarship opportunities next year.
   

• They Were Artists, Advocates, and Rising Stars. Then America Let Them Die: 11 Young Black Women with Public Profiles Killed in 2026 (shinemycrown.com) — One of the women remembered in this national piece is former Broadway child actress Imani Dia Smith, who was fatally stabbed in her Edison home in December 2025. Her killing, alongside ten other cases nationwide, is used to highlight how violence and systemic neglect disproportionately endanger Black women, especially in intimate partner situations and shootings.
