EDISON, NJ — A new supermarket is coming to the Edison storefront left empty when Stop & Shop closed nearly two years ago.
Go-Pal Supermarkets will open at the Inman Grove Shopping Center, at the corner of Grove and Inman avenues. Levin Management, which manages the shopping center, describes the new anchor tenant as an Indian grocer.
No opening date has been announced, but "Coming Soon" and "Now Hiring" signs have gone up in the store's windows. Job seekers can send resumes to jobs@go-pal.us.
According to the company's website, the store will feature locally sourced fresh produce, an in-house bakery and a full-service meat and seafood counter. Shoppers will also find everyday staples, including dairy, deli items, frozen and prepared foods, beverages, pantry goods, household and personal care products, baby and pet supplies, and flowers.
The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the website states.
The Inman Avenue Stop & Shop closed in October 2024, along with the chain's Route 1 South location in Edison, as part of a wave of closures of what the company called underperforming stores across the Northeast.
