Author Of American Girl Doll Story To Visit Metuchen Thursday

METUCHEN, NJ — We all know that the official American Girl doll for 2023, Kavi Sharma, is a Metuchen girl.

And now the author of Kavi’s backstory will be visiting the borough for a fun evening on Thursday.

Varsha Bajaj will talk about her inspiration behind Kavi’s back story and why she chose Metuchen in the first place.

She will participate in a panel discussion titled ' Representation Matters- You Can't Be What You Can't See" at 7 p.m. and tickets are available here.

Participants can also enter a raffle and stand to win a special Broadway Wicked edition Kavi.

As part of her story, Kavi, short for Kavika, is passionate about performing and lives a short train ride away from New York City and Broadway, her “favorite place in the world.”

Kavi’s story inspires kids to share their talents, pursue new interests, and take pride in who they are – just as Kavi and her family honor their Indian/ Hindu heritage.
