Parents in Edison and Metuchen can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.
EDISON, NJ — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Edison and Metuchen, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day of school.
The first day of school for students in Edison is Sept. 6 and Metuchen students go back to school on Sept. 5.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

- First Day: Sept. 6
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 23-24
- Winter Break: Dec 25- Jan. 1, 2024
- Spring Break: March 29-April 5, 2024
- Last Day: June 21, 2024
