Body Of Edison Woman, 9-Month-Old Pulled From Piscataway Pond

The bodies of a mother and her baby were found inside a car in a partially frozen pond in Piscataway Tuesday morning, according to police.

EDISON, NJ — The bodies of an Edison woman and her nine-month-old son were found in a car floating in a partially frozen pond in Piscataway Tuesday morning, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Piscataway Police Chief Thomas Mosier said.

Tamequa Robinson, 30, of Edison and her nine-month-old son, were found dead inside their car in New Market Pond, authorities said.

Police are investigating what caused the car to go into the pond and have not yet said if the deaths are being investigated as accidental.

The cause of death remains undetermined pending the completion of autopsies on both mother and baby by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

At approximately 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, authorities responded to the area of Stelton Road and Lakeview Avenue where officers located a car floating in the pond. Inside the vehicle, authorities found two people who were pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
