About Us

Thursday, February 3 and Friday, February 4 marked the National Celebration of "Give Kids a Smile Day" created by the American Dentist Association (ADA). Give Kids a Smile Day is an opportunity for kids who cannot normally afford to see a dentist to get free dental care. Dentists, as well as dental hygienists, assistants, and other volunteers, use their time and talents to ensure that children are given the dental care they need and deserve all across the country.

At JFK University Medical Center, Dr. Steven Hobson and the Dental Residency team originated the theme in their clinic, "Smiles so bright, you can see them from outer space." With the clinic decorated as an outer space theme with each child received an "out of this world” dental exam, along with a specially designed t-shirt and a bag of goodies to keep teeth clean and bright.
