Cedar Hill Prep Students Earn Top Honors at International Future Problem Solving Competition

A group of thirteen students from Cedar Hill Preparatory School in Franklin Township recently competed at the Future Problem Solving International Conference at Indiana University from June 10–14. The 2026 Future Problem Solving Program International Conference brought together over 2,000 total participants, including 1,454 champion student competitors representing 11 countries, 33 U.S. states, 259 different schools and groups.

The students — Aaliyah Patel, Aanya Vig, Agasthya Mabbu, Anandita Gurjar, Avya Kumar, Alexander Peng, Dylan Lee, Indigo James, Isra Arif, Johnathan Li, Sahasra Genupur, Samaira Doshi, and Tanish Patel — earned their spots at the competition through qualification and competed in two events: the Multi Agent Global Issues Competition (M.A.G.I.C) and the Community Projects Showcase.

In M.A.G.I.C, students were challenged to develop an Action Plan for a 2045 future scene set in Slovenia, where bioengineered trees had disrupted the ecosystem. Indigo James took 3rd place and Isra Arif followed closely with 4th place in the Forestry category.

The team's Community Projects Showcase entry — a year-long initiative supporting a neighboring Title 1 School — drew special recognition from FPS Engagement Manager Cait Hutsell, who called it the most impactful project she remembers and posed for a selfie with the students to mark the moment.
