Early Closing For Edison Schools Due To Heat

Edison Schools are operating on a half-day schedule due to the heat.

EDISON, NJ — Edison public schools will close early on Monday due to the excessive heat, the Board of Education said on Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s on Monday, with a head index of into the 100s. The high school will dismiss at noon, middle school students at 1 p.m., and elementary school students at 1:30 p.m. Morning kindergarten will be in session from 8:55 a.m. to 11 a.m., and afternoon kindergarten will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The schools are already scheduled to have half days on Tuesday and Wednesday, which are the last two days of the school year.
