Joshi Leads Hahn In Edison: Unofficial 2021 Election Results

The Edison Mayoral race is a hotly contested one. See results as they come in.

EDISON, NJ — Polls have closed and vote totals are being tabulated in Tuesday’s elections. Check back with Patch for updated results of the race for Edison Mayor and Town Council. Results will remain unofficial pending certification.

Mayor

With 96 percent precincts reporting, Democrat Sam Joshi is currently leading Republican Keith Hahn and Christo Makropolous (Independent) in the mayoral race.

10: 50 p.m., Nov. 2 count:

  • Joshi: 10,589
  • Hahn: 9,185
  • Makropolous: 293
  • Write-in: 28

Joshi currently serves as the vice president of the Council. He won the Democratic primary in June beating Edison Democratic Chairman Mahesh Bhagia and Arthur Esposito.

Hahn is a retired detective of the Edison Police Department and has been on the Edison Water Advisory Committee and Edison Planning Board. Hahn has a 21 point plan for making Edison a better place to live in. "Our platform is one of progress, safety, and innovation," he said.

Council:

There are six candidates are vying for three council seats. Democrats Margot Harris, John Poyner, and Nishith Patel are leading Republicans Tali Epstein, Joseph Luistro, and Payal Mehta.
