Edison Family Loses Everything In Wednesday Night Apartment Fire
Breaking: Two families have been displaced as a result of the fire. One family lost everything.

EDISON, NJ — Two apartment units were damaged in a Wednesday night fire, displacing two large families, Edison officials said.
Units 9A and 9B were damaged in the Lyle Place apartment building in the Potters section of North Edison. Five of the 11 family members were home in unit 9A when a kitchen fire broke out around 7 p.m., fire Capt. Andy Toth said. Three boys, between ages 12 and 21, and two girls, ages 20 and 12, fled the five-bedroom apartment before firefighters arrived.
Several of the 10-member family who live in 9B were home at the time, but escaped without injury, Toth said.

9A was heavily damaged by the flames, while 9B was damaged by the smoke. Both units are currently uninhabitable, but Toth said they're hopeful 9B will be safe for the family within the next 48 hours.
“The family from 9A, however, lost everything … clothes, furniture, computers and their important documents,” Toth explained. “But, everyone has come together – from our mayor’s office and various municipal agencies, to our school district, and our police and fire unions – to do whatever they can to help.”
