Edison To Celebrate Lunar New Year On Saturday

The festival will feature cultural performances, fireworks and more.

EDISON, NJ — Edison will celebrate Lunar New Year with a free community festival Saturday at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at 450 Division Street. Mayor Sam Joshi and Edison Recreation are hosting the celebration.

The festival will feature cultural performances, a lion dance and refreshments. Firecrackers will be set off starting at noon in the parking lot across from the school.

The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The 2026 celebration welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse, which begins Jan. 29.

No tickets or registration are required.
