Edison Hosts Promotion Ceremony For 5 Members Of Fire Department
Mayor Sam Joshi and Fire Chief Andrew Toth administrated the oath at the ceremony.

EDISON, NJ – The township recently held a promotion ceremony for members of the local fire department.
Edison Mayor Sam Joshi and Edison Fire Chief Andrew Toth administrated the oath at a ceremony held at the Council chamber.
Joseph Gaul, a 30-year veteran of the department was promoted to Deputy Chef; Michael Pellegrino and Richard Schreck were promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief; Andrew Drebych and Brian Vicidomini were promoted to the rank of Captain.

During his opening comments, Joshi thanked the families of the firefighters and assured them that the township has made “concrete steps” towards improvements in the department.
“I just want to say how proud I am of each and every one of you. Since taking office, I also serve as the director of Public Safety and I take that job very seriously. I want to make sure that not just our firefighters but the families also know that administration 100 percent supports your work and supports you,” Joshi said.

“We have taken concrete steps towards improvements within the fire department as well.”
He noted that the township has witnessed many fires recently, but residents always agree that Edison’s fire department is the best
Chief Toth said he was happy the department was “moving in the right direction.”
“In the last three years, between Mayor (Tom) Lankey and Mayor Joshi, we did around 50 hires and a lot of promotions,” Toth said. “This is a new fire department, this is a young fire department. We have a lot of new officers - I wish you luck in your career.”
