EDISON, NJ — In an effort to enhance mobility and accessibility during the upcoming World Cup, Edison Township has launched a new Pilot Transit Program.
This initiative aims to provide residents with convenient and affordable transportation options to popular locations throughout Edison on the dates of the World Cup.
The Pilot Transit Program is designed with three key principles in mind: affordability, safety, and accessibility.

As the township prepares for an influx of visitors, the program aims to ensure that both residents and tourists can easily navigate the community while enjoying what it has to offer on game days.

- Multiple Transit Routes: Residents will have access to various transit routes that connect them to their favorite local destinations, including popular restaurants, entertainment venues, and more.
- Affordable Fare: Transit fares will be just $2 for one Day Pass
“We are thrilled to introduce this Pilot Transit Program as part of our preparations for the World Cup,” Mayor Sam Joshi said. “This initiative reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive
environment where everyone can enjoy our town's offerings safely and affordably.”
Following the conclusion of the World Cup, plans are already in place for expanding the transit program based on feedback from residents and visitors alike.
The aim is to create a sustainable transportation solution that continues beyond the event, township officials said.
The Pilot Transit Program will be available coinciding with the dates of the World Cup games, and residents are encouraged to take advantage of the new service.
