Edison Library To Host Lunar New Year Mental Health Event

The event will offer wellness resources, mini-games and a special presentation on March 8.

EDISON, NJ — A mental health outreach program focused on the Chinese American community will be held at the Edison Public Library next month.

The program will offer attendees a chance to learn about mental wellness resources and ring in the Lunar New Year with intention.

The Chinese American Mental Health Outreach Program, known as CAMHOP, will hold the event Sunday, March 8, at the library's main branch at 340 Plainfield Ave. in Edison. The event is open to adults 18 and older. While geared toward the Chinese community, organizers say all are welcome.

CAMHOP is a multicultural program of the National Alliance on Mental Illness - New Jersey, a nonprofit that raises awareness about mental health conditions and supports families navigating them.

The event, titled "Preparing for the Year of the Fire Horse," draws on the significance of 2026 in the Chinese zodiac. The Fire Horse year is traditionally associated with progress and transformative change — themes organizers say align with the program's mission of promoting inner well-being.
