EDISON, NJ — Edison Mayor Sam Joshi is headed to Washington D.C. to have conversations with federal leaders and represent the interests of the Township, his office said Tuesday.
Joshi will be attending the biannual U.S. Conference of Mayors. The four-day event is designed for Mayors to review best practices, collaborate on initiatives and advocate for their town or city’s needs.
This year’s conference focuses on the themes of public safety, equitable recovery, quality of life, climate resiliency, and innovation, according to the program schedule.

Mayors from across the country form committees and adopt policy resolutions that are then sent as suggestions to national leaders.
“This is an exciting opportunity to learn alongside other mayors who are navigating similar issues in their cities,” Joshi said in a statement. “It’s a chance to brainstorm, network, and bring back the best resources to Edison. My administration is all about communication and collaboration.”
