Edison Police To Get New Body Armor Through State Grant

Council accepted funding from a state program to purchase protective vests for officers.

EDISON, NJ — The Edison Township Council has accepted a state grant to purchase body armor for police officers, township officials said.

During the last meeting, council approved a resolution accepting $16,735.81 from the State Fiscal Year 2025 State Body Armor Replacement Fund Program.

The grant will be used to buy protective vests for members of the Edison Police Department.

Edison is among multiple police departments in New Jersey eligible for funding through the state program.

The Business Administrator was authorized to sign the grant application and execute the grant agreement on behalf of the township.
