Edison Resident Charged In Shooting Death Of Mercer County Man
Dashawn Womack was found dead in a parked vehicle in Hamilton Township with two gunshot wounds. Authorities have charged George Briscoe.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – An Edison man was charged in the shooting death of Mercer County resident Dashawn Womack last month, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Wednesday.
George A. Briscoe, 31, was arrested Wednesday morning in Edison by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, and the Hamilton and Edison police.
Briscoe has been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, and multiple weapons offenses, Onofri said. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Briscoe pending trial, authorities said.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, Hamilton patrol officers found Womack in a parked vehicle on Rosalie Avenue, adjacent to Victor Avenue. He suffered two gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, Onofri said.
The investigation was conducted by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hamilton Police Division.
