Edison’s 'Revamped' July 4 Event Will Be Bigger, Better: Officials

There will be transportation available for seniors, and shuttle buses from the parking lot to the park.

EDISON, NJ — The township is revamping its annual July 4 celebration to make it “bigger and better,” officials said.

The celebration will begin at 3 p.m. on July 4 at Papaianni Park. There will be live music, food vendors, a beer and wine garden and kids’ rides. The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Shuttle bus service will be available from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. to ferry residents who park throughout the Edison Square Complex, at 2025-2045 Lincoln Highway to Papaianni Park.

A trackless train will also be available to take people who need assistance from the park entrance into the park. For seniors, transportation will be available from their homes to the celebration.

“July 4th events are a staple of a true American summer and one of our major annual events in Edison,” Mayor Sam Joshi said. “I invite all our neighbors to come out and enjoy the fun and fireworks.”

Musical acts for the evening include country-tribute band “Big Hix”, Motown band “Nothing but Velvet”, rock and soul artists “JoBonanno & Godsons of Soul” and the American historical group “Raritan Valley Trombone Quartet”.
