Edison Teen Missing, Believed To Have Runaway, Police Say

Police say she might be in Edison or Newark. She has previously run away to Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth.

EDISON, NJ — Edison police are still searching for a missing teen, who is believed to be a runaway. 14-year-old Jalaysia Staplar-Evans was last seen the night of March 9.

Police say around 10 p.m. that night, Staplar-Evans got into a black car near her home. She has not been seen since, but is likely in the Edison or Newark areas. The teen, pictured above, is 5'2" and weights 120 pounds, police said in a Facebook post.

A previous runaway attempt in June 2017 ended at Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth, police said.
