EDISON, NJ — An Edison bowling and entertainment venue has been named the best new tenpin center in the country, according to a national industry publication.

Albatross Entertainment, located at 991 U.S. Route 1, took top honors in the Best New Tenpin Center category at the 41st Annual Bowling Center Architecture and Design Awards, presented by Bowling Center Management magazine, according to the company. The award recognizes standout innovation, immersive design and guest experience.

The 50,000-square-foot venue features 32 bowling lanes — including eight VIP lanes for private events — along with what the company bills as the world's largest themed indoor putting area, craft cocktails and elevated dining. A centerpiece of the space is the Neoverse LED Wall, a high-definition display that spans all 32 lanes and interacts with gameplay in real time.

Chief Operating Officer Cody Browning said the ownership team built Albatross around the idea of creating a destination that went beyond a typical bar or entertainment venue. To execute the concept, they partnered with QubicaAMF, a global bowling equipment and technology company that supplied the lanes, scoring systems and LED display infrastructure.

"When we were designing Albatross, we always knew that bowling was going to play a pivotal role in our product," Browning said. "Partnering with them was a no-brainer solution because they offered a perfect turnkey product."

The reaction from guests has matched the ambition, Browning said, particularly around the interactive LED wall. "They've never seen anything like that before, let alone finding out that it's interactive with the gameplay experience," he said. "They are simply blown away."

Albatross Entertainment is located next door to Supercharged Entertainment New Jersey, which operates what the company describes as the world's largest indoor multi-level karting track.
