Edison Woman Faces Various Charges In Stabbing Of Co-Worker At ShopRite Deli
Melissa Prince of Edison was taken into custody and the victim is currently in critical but stable condition, police said.
EDISON, NJ — An Edison woman stabbed her co-worker at ShopRite multiple times in the Deli Department of the supermarket on Sunday, Jan. 2, Clark Police said.
Melissa Prince, 57, of Edison, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, police said.
Prince is currently at a psychiatric facility before she will be taken to the Union County Jail, authorities said.

According to the police, on Sunday, Jan. 2, at 3:45 p.m., patrol units were dispatched to the ShopRite Supermarket at 76 Central Ave., in Clark on reports of an employee who suffered a "laceration" in the deli department.
Prince was taken into custody and the victim was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where she is being treated for her wounds, police said. She is currently in critical but stable condition, according to the police report.

No customers were injured during the attack, according to the police.
