Manslaughter Charges For Edison Woman In Crash That Killed Friend

Ashley Gergits, 20, was charged with manslaughter in connection to the crash that killed Jenna Adamousky, 21.

EDISON, NJ — An Edison woman was charged with manslaughter in connection to a drunk driving crash that left her friend dead, the Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said. Ashley Gergits, 20, was charged with aggravated manslaughter and possession of a fradulent document Wednesday in connection to the Feb. 16 crash, Carey said. She was previously charged with drunk driving.

Gergits was driving when she allegedly crashed on Route 27 south in Highland Park. She struck a bridge abutment, bounced off and struck a car waiting at a red light, Carey said.

The crash killed Jenna Adamousky, 21, and injured two male passengers in her car, who were both taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center.

The driver of the other car, a 31-year-old from New York, was also taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center.
