Election 2022: Christo Makropoulos For Edison Board Of Education

EDISON, NJ — Three open seats from the Edison Board of Education will be up on the ballot this November.

Candidates are vying for three-year terms. Three incumbents — Shannon Peng, Shivi Prasad-Madhukar and Kevin Hajduk are seeking reelection.

Below is candidate Christo Makropoulos' candidate profile.

Why are you seeking to run for School Board?

This is my way of serving my community. I believe in the importance of ensuring that every child receives a quality education in order to be successful. Education is the most powerful tool to build a healthy and vibrant community. I am educated on the issues and understand the challenges we face as a district in the coming years. I will be an advocate for students and parents who need a leader that is transparent. Many in our community are concerned that our children are being taught values they do not share, whether it is the curriculum or mandates from Dictator Murphy. I want to be the voice for all those frustrated students, parents, teachers and taxpayers.

COVID-19 resulted in learning loss for many students. What will you do to ensure students bounce back?

This past year has been devastating for many in our community. Many students, parents and teachers feel their voices were not heard or even considered. I am concerned about the lower academic achievement this pandemic has caused along with mental health and fitness of our students. I will promote more money for sports, arts and music. Whatever money we are making this year should be spent on this year’s students. I don’t like the idea of putting money away just to put it away.

What is your view on the sex education curriculum that Gov. Murphy put forth earlier this year?

I am against the radical left-wing agenda that Dictator Gov. Murphy calls sex education curriculum. I call on Gov. Murphy to stop his sexual indoctrination of children and to go back to Boston. Gov. Murphy is forcing the State of NJ into predatory grooming and psychological torture of students and when local school boards stand in opposition to his anti-American/Communist agenda he will send over the sex police and take away state funding which will bankrupt entire school districts. I blame Hollywood, politicians and school systems for abusing children through redefining reality such as allowing a 2nd grader to choose their own gender which has been promoting mental illness in children causing a pandemic of school shootings across America. The adults have failed to protect the children.

What according to you is the biggest issue facing the school district currently? How do you plan to tackle it?

The biggest issue facing the school district is the same as it has been for years. It’s the political corruption that plagues the Edison school district every election cycle.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

What sets me apart from the rest of the candidates is that I am invested in my community. I was born here, I graduated from Edison High School and I am a product of the Edison school system. The other candidates do not care about the state of the Edison school system and are only using this as a political stepping stone to promote their political agendas which are against the Interests of the taxpayers and students.

What else would you like to share about yourself or your campaign?

I am running on the “Protect the Children” platform. I am endorsed by John Kiriakou he is the CIA agent who caught the #3 in Al Qaeda. New Jersey Corruption Watch, and Middlesex County Young Republicans.
