Inaugural Winter Wonderland & Marketplace Begins Saturday In Edison

The event will begin with a tree-lighting ceremony. There will be ice-skating rink, Polar Express train, food, music and more.

EDISON, NJ — The Township’s first Winter Wonderland and Marketplace is all set to begin this Saturday.

The event will begin with a tree-lighting ceremony at Papaianni Park.

“We wanted to give all of our residents the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season in a spectacular and affordable way, which is why we’re utilizing the full 22-acre Lake Papaianni Park to host one of the largest Winter Festivals in the state,” Mayor Sam Joshi said.

The event will be held on the first three weekends of December on Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6p.m.

Residents can expect food and craft vendors, a Winter Tavern every Saturday, hosted by Elixir Bar & Grill, an ice-skating rink, a Polar Express trackless train, over 100,000 holiday light display, Santa and Mrs. Claus, a visit from the characters of Disney's Frozen, as well as holiday musical performances by school choirs, and bands.
