Man Shoots Edison Woman After Attacking Her, Stealing SUV: Police
The woman's injuries were non-life-threatening, police said. Christopher Finney, 25 of Piscataway has been charged with various offenses.
EDISON, NJ — Edison Police are looking for a 25-year-old Piscataway man, who assaulted his girlfriend, stole her SUV and then shot her in the back of the head, police said.
The woman, an Edison resident, was rushed to Rober Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick and her injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.
On Tuesday afternoon, Christopher Finney, 25 of Piscataway assaulted his girlfriend and tried strangling her. He then stole her grey Jeep Compass, said Deputy Chief of Police Robert Dudash.

The woman and her friend were on their way to the Edison Police Headquarters when Finney pulled up in the area of Colton Road and Route 27 and fired a shot through the car window. The woman was in the passenger seat and her friend was driving, Dudash said.
Finney fled the scene and later dumped the vehicle in Elizabeth, Dudash said.

He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, stealth of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon, strangulation, and other offenses.
Edison Police are currently investigating.
