Mercer Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Rt. 1 Edison: Cops

According to authorities, the Hamilton man was going at high speed when the crash took place.

EDISON, NJ — A 60-year-old Hamilton man was killed after his motorcycle struck a vehicle on Route 1 Edison on Sept. 20, authorities said.

Around 2:30 p.m., the motorcyclist was traveling at high speed on Route 1 going northbound, Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said. The Hamilton man was going too fast to realize the traffic had backed up. He hit the brakes and the bike started to slide, Bryan said.

The motorcyclist dismounted from the bike before striking a stopped vehicle. The motorcycle followed and hit him on the head, according to investigation. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries.
