Metuchen Council Proposes Pool Fee Increases For 2026 Season
Council introduced an ordinance raising pool membership rates and adding new memberships for the upcoming season.
METUCHEN, NJ - Metuchen residents who use the borough pool will pay higher membership fees this year under an ordinance introduced at the Wednesday Council meeting.
The ordinance raises most existing membership rates and adds several new membership categories, including options for couples and senior couples, which were not previously available.
Under the proposed changes, a resident family membership purchased during the early registration period — which ends on Memorial Day — would increase from $540 to $570. The late registration rate for the same membership would rise from $630 to $670. A resident individual membership would go from $285 to $300 during the early period, and from $325 to $345 after that.

The ordinance also creates new membership tiers. Resident couples would pay $400 during the early registration period and $460 after, while resident senior couples — defined as two Metuchen residents each 62 or older living in the same household — would pay $200 early and $230 late. A new resident single parent family membership would be offered at $380 early and $440 late.
Non-resident couple memberships would be set at $530 for the early period and $590 after. Non-resident senior couple memberships would be $450 early and $480 late.
Non-resident rates would also increase across existing categories. A nonresident family membership would go from $795 to $835 during the early period and from $900 to $945 after that.
A public hearing on the ordinance will be held on March 9 before final adoption.
