The borough will use the funds to purchase portable radio systems for the Metuchen Fire Department.
METUCHEN, NJ — The Borough has been awarded $301,324 in federal grant funding to upgrade its first responder dispatcher system, Congressman Frank Pallone said Tuesday.
The funds come from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. Metuchen will use the funds to purchase portable radio systems that will ensure uniformity with Middlesex County and Rutgers University’s dispatch systems.
“Our first responders perform incredible work every day to keep our communities safe and healthy,” Pallone said.
