Metuchen School Placed On Lockdown After Strangers Found Inside: Cops

Police have apprehended the strangers and the lockdown has now been lifted, authorities said.

METUCHEN, NJ — Metuchen High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after unknown individuals were reported inside the school, police said.

Authorities received a call Wednesday about strangers inside Metuchen High School. Police reached the scene and were able to apprehend them after they fled the school, authorities said.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed on lockdown while authorities investigated.

The lockdown has since been lifted and police have determined that there is no current threat. The school will resume the regular schedule for the day, police said.
