The collision may have been triggered by a medical episode, police said.
EDISON, NJ — A 77-year-old Metuchen woman died Monday afternoon after her SUV crashed and triggered a chain-reaction crash involving six vehicles, police said.
The crash occurred around 2:44 p.m. at the intersection of New Durham Road and Talmadge Road.
The woman was driving a 2016 Buick Enclave east on New Durham Road when the vehicle veered off the road, went airborne and landed on Talmadge Road, where it struck a tractor-trailer. The Buick slid underneath the trailer, suffering severe damage, police chief Thomas Bryan said.
