Metuchen's America 250 Celebration Set For June 28 With Clydesdales, Live Music Downtown

The procession steps off at 5 p.m. from the Forum Theater, ending at Town Plaza with the Nikki Briar Band.

METUCHEN, NJ — Metuchen will celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary with an America 250 event on June 28, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Forum Theater, sponsored by Hackensack Meridian Health.

The procession, featuring the Clydesdale horses of Kafka Farms and a street brass band, will depart from the Forum Theater and make its way to the Town Plaza, where the Nikki Briar Band will kick off the evening with the national anthem before performing her signature country rock.

The event is part of Metuchen's "Metuchen Is America" initiative, marking the borough's 125th anniversary alongside the national semiquincentennial.

Residents are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. Organizers are also offering select attendees the chance to ride in the carriages — those interested should watch the borough's social media channels for details.
