Multiple Cars Stolen In Metuchen: Police

Police warn residents to always lock their car doors.

METUCHEN, NJ — Metuchen police are warning residents about a recent rash of car thefts in the borough.

In the past two weeks, three cars were stolen in the area of Norris Ave and Mason Drive, police said. All cars were stolen overnight. They were all unlocked with either keys or the valet key left inside.

"Please remember NOT to keep your car keys inside your car or any other valuable item and LOCK YOUR CAR!" police said.

Thieves have been targeting unlocked, luxury cars around the state in recent months. Statewide, police departments are warning against car theft rings that use apps to find fey fobs left inside unlocked cars.
