Multiple Jack-Knifed Trailers On Turnpike In Edison Area
Breaking: One of the crashes includes a jack-knifed tractor trailer.
EDISON, NJ — The snow has caused multiple accidents, including jack-knifed tractor trailers, along the Turnpike in the Edison area.
As of 10:22 a.m., there's an accident and a jack-knifed tractor trailer on the southbound Turnpike near Exit 9. The left lane is blocked.
As of 10:44 a.m., there's an accident on the southbound lanes near Exit 10. The right lane is blocked.

Outside of Edison, there is a jack-knifed tractor trailer on the Turnpike south near Exit 8A in Monroe, which is blocking the ramp. On the northbound Turnpike, there's a jack-knifed tractor trailer near Exit 12 in Carteret. The right lane is blocked.
There are also various weather-related delays along most of the Turnpike.

All of these crashes happened despite speed restrictions on the Turnpike: between the George Washington Bridge and Exit 7A, the speed limit has been lowered to 45 miles per hour. South of Exit 7A, the limit is 35 miles per hour.
Similar speed restrictions are in place on the Garden State Parkway. North of Sayreville, the speed limit is 45 miles per hour. South of Sayreville, it's 35 miles per hour.
