New Hot Chicken & Waffles Restaurant Opening In Metuchen

METUCHEN, NJ — If you love Nashville Hot Chicken, this could come as good news to you. A new chicken and waffles restaurant is all set to open in Metuchen’s Main Street.

Namkeen Hot Chicken + Waffles will open a new restaurant at 410 Main Street. Namkeen will serve Nashville-style hot chicken but with a Pakistani twist.

“Metuchen will be our second location and an opportunity for us to bring some of our unique flavors to Central Jersey,” a restaurant spokesperson told Patch. Their other location is Chatham, NJ.

The anticipated opening date is January 2022, the restaurant spokesperson said. The restaurant will be located in the space formerly occupied by "What's The Scoop?" which has moved down the block.

The 2,500-square-feet restaurant is expected to seat around 60 patrons and offers a number of fusion items like Tikkaville Sandwich, Dhamaka Fries, Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese, and more.

Patrons can adjust the spice levels, the description of which is inspired by Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” — Naked (calm and ready), Mild (palms sweaty), Medium (knees weak), and Hot (BLAOW!)
