Plainfield Motorcyclist Killed In Rt. 287 Crash In Edison

EDISON, NJ — A Plainfield resident was killed on Monday morning after a motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer, near Interstate 287 and Route 440 in Edison, New Jersey State Police said.

Police have identified the victim as Terrance R. Edwin, 61, of Plainfield.

According to State Police, troopers responded to the crash at 5:28 a.m. on Monday morning. Edwin was riding a Honda motorcycle when it collided with a Western Star tractor-trailer traveling south on I-287 to Route 440 north, State police said.

As a result of the collision, Edwin was ejected and struck by the tractor-trailer, State Police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Dennis R. Brown, 74, of Acme, PA suffered no injuries, State Police said.

The crash is currently under investigation.
