'Tis The Season: Upcoming Holiday Events In Metuchen

METUCHEN, NJ - If last weekend Metuchen got you to shop until you drop, this weekend and the coming week, the borough has a few exciting events for you to enjoy.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join the Rise Up Chorus for some festive caroling. The event will begin at the Town Plaza and proceed through downtown. After that, you can enjoy the 3rd Annual Gingerbread House competition. Gingerbread houses need to be dropped off by 2 p.m. at What The Scoop on Main Street. Voting will be done by the general public from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The theme this year is "Love It or List It – Gingerbread House Edition." The "Love It" winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to a Downtown Metuchen business of their choice and the “List It” winner will receive Fixer Upper kit.

On Sunday, Dec. 19, the community will be participating in the Metuchen Cookie Walk. Home bakers will be making cookies and donating them for sale. The more cookies donated, the more money is raised for the Fuccile Foundation to support friends and neighbors in need.
