The statewide ranking, based on quality, recommendations, and satisfaction data, offers a useful starting point for residents comparing long-term care options for aging loved ones. 
• HS soccer teammates start charity to collect equipment for communities in need (nj.com subscription) — High school soccer players who once played in Emerson have launched Kickin’ It Forward, a student-run nonprofit that collects used soccer gear for kids who can’t afford equipment. Their donation boxes at North Jersey sports facilities have already yielded hundreds of cleats and balls, which are being redistributed locally and overseas through church and nonprofit partners.
