Book Talk & Signing with Shanda McManus

In this special in-person event, Shanda shares excerpts from her book, a series of letters written to her brother Monir, killed in a drive-by shooting when she was a first-year medical student.

Join us for an evening of reading, conversation, and community as Shanda shares excerpts from the book and sits down with fellow writer Jennifer Gaites to discuss her experience writing across grief and how she held both personal loss and public urgency on the same page.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear more of Shanda’s story, and connect with her about her life as a writer and physician. Light refreshments and book signing to follow. Come out and support your hometown author and friend.
