1 Charged In Fair Lawn DWI Crash: Police
Another driver was taken to the hospital after the head-on crash in Fair Lawn, police said.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — One person was injured in a head-on crash, and another has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
Fair Lawn Police responded to Maple Avenue near Route 208 at 9:01 a.m. this morning after receiving a report of the crash, authorities said.
A Toyota Prius, driven by Vadym Yukhno, age 58, of Fair Lawn, was coming off the off-ramp from Route 208 North onto Maple Avenue south when the vehicle was driven over the double yellow line on Maple Avenue, and struck another vehicle, police said.

That vehicle was driven by a 43-year-old woman from New Haven, Connecticut. Both vehicles were damaged, and the New Haven woman was taken to the hospital with chest and wrist injuries, police said.
Yukhno failed a roadside sobriety test and was arrested. He is charged with assault by auto, failure to keep right, improper passing, reckless driving, careless driving & driving while intoxicated.

He was transported to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for treatment.
