Sister Act Sr. is part of Broadway Senior, a national program for adults 55 and older. Music Theatre International launched Broadway Senior in May 2025 with more than 100 senior centers and community theaters across the country staging adapted musicals.

The productions are shortened and are similar in format to Broadway Junior, but designed specifically for older adult performers.

Will Be Seated

To support older adult performers, the production will be staged as a seated performance. Music stands will be available, and some cast members will use extra-large-print scripts.

The original Broadway show has also been adapted through MTI for senior voices.

The production is directed by Stephanie McKay, the Connections Director for Juniper Village. Musical direction is by Steve Bell, who also directed previous Juniper Village productions of Guys and Dolls SR and Fiddler on the Roof Sr.

Assistant Director Carlos Palencia Junior and Bell are both members of the Bergen County Players.

The performances are free, and seating is first come, first served at Fair Lawn Community Center. Although the audience will be mainly family and friends of the residents, others are welcome to attend. For more information, call Juniper Village at Paramus at (201) 251-9600.
